Please be prepared along with your guests who are driving separate for this driveway during winter months as there is ice/snow on the ground and a 4WD/AWD vehicle with traction tires are necessary AND carrying chains is recommended.

While we do our best to keep this driveway plowed and sanded, winter conditions can change rapidly and make both access to and from this driveway challenging and we cannot guarantee its condition upon your arrival at any time. We are subject to the subcontractor and the Chelan County plows who service this driveway, and our county roads so please pack your patience along with following the recommendations below if you choose to book.

The place was very rustic. While the cabin is dog-friendly, the floors and stairs are very slick and our older dog had a hard time getting in and out.

View of the Wenatchee River is beautiful.

We had a wonderful girl's trip at the Sumac River House. The view of the Wenatchee River is beautiful. We enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub and taking in the scenery while on the upper deck. We would've been more comfortable if there was some sort of A/C or cooling system. It was hard to cool the place down with just opening windows and using fans. It was probably anywhere from 78°-84° inside the cabin throughout our stay. I do realize though, that they don't mention a cooling system in the description. Our first impression was that the cabin felt a little smaller inside than what we saw in the pictures. And there were narrow stairs to climb once you got inside that were not pictured. All in all, we enjoyed our trip to the Leavenworth area! We went to the farmer's market in Plain on Saturday and found some treasures. We also floated the river right to the cabin. That was fun! A little more info about floating the river would've been helpful... but we figured it out 🙂

We enjoyed our stay at the cabin. The peaceful surroundings , lovely river view make this an idyllic place . The kitchen was well stocked , the rooms comfortable and cozy . Loved the doggy place and the property was spacious and you could walk down to the river . Definitely recommend coming for a relaxing few days .

Cabin was spacious, for being a little cabin. It was clean and had everything we needed. The deck with the gates at both ends is very helpful with a dog and toddler. View is beautiful and location felt pretty private. River access isn’t bad, but it was steps and there’s no real river front to relax on. But that’s not the cabin itself. Just something to note. Only improvements could be some better pillows on the beds and maybe a little couch or comfy arm chair, instead of the two little chairs in the living room. But other than that, our stay was great and I wouldn’t deduct any stars.

A very peaceful, comfortable stay!

We really enjoyed our stay at this cabin. My husband and I and our two daughters (18 & 22) were there for 3 nights visiting Leavenworth. The drive to it from Leavenworth was about 30 minutes and could be twisty-turkey at times but beautiful. The kitchen was well furnished for cooking, the bathrooms were nicely done, and the beds and pillows were comfortable. The upper loft did get warm overnight but there were fans available. The best part were the views of the river off the deck! We saw paddle boarders and rafters go by and there is a decent amount of shade. We also enjoyed the hot tub every night, the lid was easy to move and the extra towels by the door were appreciated. A very peaceful, comfortable stay!

Beautiful view and peaceful. Had a fenced area for dogs which was great. Private and quiet neighborhood. Hot tub was clean and we enjoyed our time under the stars!
