Welcome to Montaska Cabin, a peaceful tri-level mountain retreat tucked along the outer edge of the Ponderosa Pines community near Plain, Washington. Surrounded by towering ponderosa pines with peek-a-boo mountain views and beautiful sunset skies, this inviting cabin offers plenty of room to gather, relax, and enjoy the slower pace of mountain life.

With a private queen bedroom, open sleeping loft, lower-level recreation room, dedicated workspace, and bright great room with floor-to-ceiling windows, Montaska Cabin is thoughtfully set up for families, couples, or friends looking for a comfortable home base for year-round Central Washington adventures.

LIVING SPACE:
The bright and airy main level is the heart of Montaska Cabin. An open staircase, soaring windows, and views into the surrounding pines create a warm mountain atmosphere with plenty of natural light.

The open-concept kitchen and dining area makes it easy to cook, eat, and spend time together without being separated from the main living space.
The fully outfitted kitchen includes:

The dining table comfortably seats 4, with extra seating for additional guests.
A convenient powder room is also located on the main level.

The upper level is an OPEN SLEEPING LOFT overlooking the great room below. Open railings keep the loft connected to the dramatic windows and main living space while creating a fun and distinctive cabin sleeping experience.
Please note that the loft and sleeping nook are not enclosed private bedrooms.

LOWER-LEVEL RECREATION + WORK SPACE:
The lower level provides an additional area to spread out and is also the primary entrance to the cabin.
This level includes:

Winter guests please see cautionary notes below:

Winter Restrictions will apply as guests will need 4WD or an AWD vehicle and we suggest carrying chains. Boot chains are also recommended for winter guests for ease of hiking up/down to the cabin in the snow./ice.

We strive to keep the driveway plowed and sanded; however, winter weather conditions can change quickly, potentially making access to and from the driveway challenging. Please note that we cannot guarantee the driveway's condition upon your arrival, as we are reliant on both our subcontractor and Chelan County plows for maintenance of the driveway and surrounding roads. If you choose to book, we kindly ask for your patience and recommend following the guidelines below to help ensure a smooth experience.

Cabin in the mountains

The place was a beautiful 3 story home. Bottom level has the only full bath and bedroom. The middle level has 1/2 bath and living room and kitchen. Third story is a loft with a bed. The cabin was clean. The beds were comfortable. The shower head was ok. The water pressure was good.

Awesome retreat!

Great Weekend Spot

Our second visit, but in a different season. A lovely place to return to after a day exploring the area. A glass of wine on the terrace, a sky full of stars, a chorus of crickets. The house is comfy and well arranged for a couple of families. A tough one to leave.

Secluded and quiet but close to activities

This was a very nice rental with lots of peace and quiet. The neighborhood was a bit hodge podge, but the house was at the end of the line so no traffic or neighbors to speak of. The Plain Store was useful for someone odds and ends but Leavenworth was pretty close for groceries. We explored Lake Wenatchee, Wenatchee, and Leavenworth, as well as other spots. But at the end of the day's activities (usually around 2:30) it was great to head back and put our feet up on the porch. We also enjoyed some fires with our coffee in the morning. Really great stay!

We came to ski and caught the tail end of this year’s snow. We love the laid back character of Plain. Small, friendly and unassuming.The cabin is one of the rare rentals that exceeds your expectations from the photos. We’ll appointed, comfortable and cozy with a stunning Mountain View on a clear day.The owners provided top notch and timely responses to our questions. We would return in a heartbeat.
